Owen, son of Berry and Louisa Owen, was born near Hamilton, Ia., on Oct. 7, 1898, and on June 4, 1928, at 2 a.m. he passed away in the hospital at Rochester, Minn., where he had spent the last three weeks with hopes that his health would be restored. Although he had been in poor health the last several months, his death was unexpected. He was 29 years, 7 months and 28 days old. On Feb. 26, 1919, he was united in marriage with Miss Pearl Baker of Eldorado. To this union four children were born, Mildred, Kenneth, Helen and Robert, who with their mother mourn the untimely loss of father and husband. he also leaves his mother, Mrs. Louisa Owen Visser of Bussey, two brothers, Elmer of Des Moines and Donald of Bussey, and two sisters, Mrs. Blanche Tucker and Mrs. Beulah Bailey of near Bussey, the father having passed away in February, 1921. He also leaves several uncles and aunts, other near relatives and a host of friends, as he spent his life in this community, where he was highly respected and favorably known. he was converted during his boyhood days and united with the M.E. church at Hamilton, where his membership was retained until death. he was graduated from the Hamilton high school with the class of 1918. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Bussey M.E. church, Rev. B. H. Finch officiating, assisted by Rev. Tague. Interment was made in the Hamilton cemetery. The largest attendance of relatives and friends at a funeral which Bussey has had for several years was present at these services, to pay their last respects to one whom they loved. Darnell, Mrs. John Bridges, Mrs. Margaret Anderson, Mrs. John Hartness and Mrs. William Taggert, of Knoxville; Mr. and Mrs. George Berry, Mr. and Mrs. Pete Klarren, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Walker and Mr. and Mrs. Lee Hunter, of Eddyville; Lewis McGee, of Newton; Mrs. J.R. DeVeny and Mrs. Walter Smith, of Des Moines; Mrs. Wray, of Oskaloosa; Mr. and Mrs. Walter Streeter, Mr. and Mrs. Clark Spaur and Mrs. Eunice Myers, of Columbia; Mrs. Francis Linzene, of Pershing, and Mr. and Mrs. John Force, of Eddyville.
