Description	:	Clyde Kerr, 102, of Cantril died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2001 at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center, Keosauqua where he had resided for a month. He was born Nov. 26, 1898 on the family farm in Scotland County, MO south of Cantril. He married Dorothy Merritt Oct 22, 1922 in Bloomfield. She died April 24, l985. He spent his active life farming and retired to Cantril in 1965. He served many years as Cantril city clerk and as secretary of Maple Grove Cemetary Association. He was a long time active member of... Read More	Clyde Kerr, 102, of Cantril died at 3:30 p.m. Thursday, May 17, 2001 at Van Buren Good Samaritan Center, Keosauqua where he had resided for a month. He was born Nov. 26, 1898 on the family farm in Scotland County, MO south of Cantril. He married Dorothy Merritt Oct 22, 1922 in Bloomfield. She died April 24, l985. He spent his active life farming and retired to Cantril in 1965. He served many years as Cantril city clerk and as secretary of Maple Grove Cemetary Association. He was a long time active member of Cantril United Methodist Church and was the fifth oldest Iowa Mason, having been made a Mason July 20,1922. He was a Past Master of the former Apollo Lodge No. 461, Cantril and was currently a member of Keosauqua Lodge No. 10. He was also a member of the Ottumwa York Rite Mason bodies, Davenport Consistory,and had been an Eastern Star 74 years. He had served as Worthy Patron of the former Cantril Chapter No. 437 and was currently a member of Twin City Chapter No. 258, Douds. Surviving are three sons, Stanley of Cantril, Hollis of Mesa, AZ and Larry of Ames, seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a brother, Owen and a son, Burton Earl. Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. Monday, May 21, 2001 in Cantril United Methodist Church, Rev. Raymond Doser officiated. Masonic rites will follow the service at the church. Private burial after cremation was in Maple Grove Cemetary, Cantril,
