His funeral was held at the community hall Thursday afternoon. Interment was made in the Bethel Chapel cemetery. Osceola Tribune, Osceola, Iowa July 3, 1930, Page 6 Clyde Lester Ransom son of Chas. N. and Alfaretta Ransom, was born Jan. 28, 1884, at Persia, Iowa and passed away at the Harken hospital in Osceola on June 24 at the age of 46 years, 4 months and 27 days . He came with his parents to Clarke Co., when eleven years of age, and here grew to manhood. He was united in marriage to Elizabeth McKnight on October 20, 1903. To this union was born six children, Wilbur, Roy, Clyde, Nelson, Herald, Lyle and Delbert, all of whom are at home. All of his married life has been married life has been spent in Clarke county. Clyde was a good father, and a real man among men in this community, and will be greatly missed among neighbors and friends. He leaves, besides his wife and six children , his father, Chas. N. Ransom, Woodburn, two sisters and one brother, Mrs. T. L. Dunbar, College Springs , H. L. Ransom, Creston, Mrs. Geo. Taylor, Concordia, Kansas and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held at the Liberty community House at 2 P. M. Thursday conducted by the Rev. Clair McCallon of Osceola. Burial was in Bethel Chapel cemetery. "A precious one from us has gone, A voice we loved is stilled. A place is vacant in our home, Which never can be filled. The God in his wisdom has recalled The boon his love had given, And though the body slumbers here, The soul is safe in Heaven.
