Also surviving are five sons, Daniel (Judy), Edwin (Pam), all Wapakoneta, Ronald (Sue), Harrod, Richard (Anne), Russells Point, and Wesley (Cindy), North Carolina; a daughter, Jane (Bob) Case, Wapakoneta; a sister, Hazel Binkley, Waynesfield; 26 grandchildren; a stepgrandchild and numerous great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Darlene Burden; six brothers, Stanley, Reed, Dewey, Russell, Pat and Garwood Spencer; two sisters, Chrystal Neely and Beatrice Morgan; and a grandchild. Mr. Spencer was a self-employed farmer and also worked at Ford as a tool maker, where he retired in 1979. He served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He was a member of the New Hampshire Nazarene Church where he was a Sunday School teacher and served as song leader. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and looking for artifacts. He loved his grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them. Funeral services at the Chiles & Sons-Laman Funeral Homes Eastside Chapel, with the Rev. Greg Stevens officiating. The VFW Post 1275 will conduct military rites.
