Kenneth and Mildred (Miller) Stone on 7 April 1933, in Omaha, NE and died on 22 July 2006 in Severna Park, MD at the age of 73. Ken graduated from Lyons High School in 1950 and the University of Nebraska at Lincoln in 1954. He married Beverly Olson on 30 May 1954 in Pender, NE. He was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Army in May 1954. He was stationed in domestic and overseas posts including: Germany, Korea, Viet Nam and Turkey before retiring as a Colonel after 30 years of service. He was subsequently employed as a Senior Property Manager for Charles E. Smith Company in the Washington, DC area for fifteen years. He was preceded in death by his parents, S. Kenneth and Mildred Stone, and his sisters, Mary Neely and Virginia Knox. Survivors include: his wife of 52 years, Beverly of Severna Park, MD; and children: Jeffrey and Vondel Stone of Muscatine, IA; Diane and Michael Mudzo of Burke, VA; and Douglas Stone of Alexandria, VA; his two grandchildren: Andrew and Julie Mudzo. Ken will be greatly missed by family and friends. FUNERAL SERVICE: Friday, 28 July at 10:30 a.m. at the First Presbyterian Church in Lyons, NE. BURIAL: Lyons Cemetery, Lyons, NE, with Military Honors by Robert Klase VFW Post No. 7998 and American Legion Post No. 83. VISITATION: Thursday, 22 July from 1-8 p.m. with family receiving friends from 5-8 p.m. at Pelan Funeral Services Lyons. Visitation will also be held at the church on Friday one hour prior to the service. MEMORIALS, in lieu of flowers, may be directed to the First Presbyterian Church, Lyons or Robert Klase VFW Post 7998 of Lyons, NE.
