Colleen was born November 20, 1932, on her family’s farm near Hartford, the daughter of Orlin Kenneth and Lucille (Woods) Atherly. She was baptized at the Methodist Church in Hartford. Read More	Colleen Lavonne (Atherly) Eccles, 85, of Topeka, passed away Sunday, November 26, 2017, at Plaza West. Colleen was born November 20, 1932, on her family’s farm near Hartford, the daughter of Orlin Kenneth and Lucille (Woods) Atherly. She was baptized at the Methodist Church in Hartford. She grew up on the farm, attended country schools, and graduated from Strawn High School as one of four members of the Class of 1950. After graduation, she worked at the telephone office in Burlington. On September 7, 1952, she was married to Harold Keith Eccles, and they would be the parents of three children. They were later divorced. They moved to Topeka, where Colleen worked for a time at Topeka State Savings Bank. The family followed her husband’s work to several cities, and she returned to Topeka in 1982. After working at Clara’s Dress Shop for a time, Colleen went to work in the trust department of Commerce Bank, which later became CoreFirst Bank, and she enjoyed a 25-year career until retiring in 2011. Colleen was a devoted mother and an excellent seamstress. She enjoyed sewing clothes for her children and their dolls, and creating beautiful embroidery work. Colleen was preceded in death by three brothers: Kenneth, Glen and Duane Atherly, and by a son-in-law, Allen Coffman, and a sister-in-law, Frances Atherly. She is survived by her children, Cindy Eccles of Omaha, Denise Coffman of Topeka, and Scott Eccles and his wife Julie of Brooklyn, Iowa; four grandchildren, Nathan Coffman, Amanda Merrick, Justin Coffman, and Kimberly Coleman; seven great-grandchildren: Ember, Beau, Tytus, Adelynn, Lane, Ellie and Eden, and another on the way, Jaxton; three sisters, Louise Atherly, Marjory Holmer and husband Dick, and Joan Atherly; a brother, Donald Atherly; three sisters-in-law: Elladean, Mary Lou and Lucille Atherly; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be at 10:30 AM on Friday, December 1, 2017, at Jones Funeral Home in Burlington. Burial will follow at Graceland Cemetery. The family will receive friends for visitation on Thursday evening from 7:00 to 8:00 PM at Jones Funeral Home. Memorial contributions to the “Michael J.
