Funeral Services for Colleen will be held on Wednesday, July 27, 2011 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Olaf Lutheran Church, Devils Lake. Rev. Jeff Nicla will officiate and burial will be in the Devils Lake Cemetery. Visitation will be held at the Gilbertson Funeral Home, Devils Lake on Tuesday from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and on Wednesday at the church one hour prior to the funeral service. Serving as Casket Bearers for Colleen will be Doug Baker, Jim Bryn, Bob Bryn, Duane P. Volk, Kenneth Hegge, Carroll Hegge and Duane Hatter. Music will be provided by Colleen's cousin, Joan Micheletti with Lynda Pearson as organist. Colleen Rae, the daughter of Herbert Ray and Evelyn (Hegge) Bryn was born on December 11, 1950 in Devils Lake, ND where she was raised and educated in the Devils Lake Public School System. Colleen graduated from Devils Lake Central High School with the class of 1968 and was a member of the Honor Society. She was a member of the Lake Region Figure Skating Club and was an accomplished figure skater. Colleen continued her education and graduated with a Degree in Education from the University of North Dakota in 1972 and a member of the honor society, Phi Beta Kappa. Colleen taught for one year in Bottineau, ND then was employed for a short time with the FBI in Washington, DC. In 1975, Colleen moved to Minneapolis, Minnesota and was a dedicated employee for over 30 years with Land O'Lakes until the time of her death. Her writing skills, her vast memory, her administrative abilities were soon recognized by her employer and she was assigned to the Overseas Development Department of Land O'Lakes. This meant she would make presentations and accommodate overseas visitors on their arrival to the States. Later her duties as a Communications Specialist would take her overseas to Warsaw, Poland and Moscow, Russia and eventually her work was known all over the world. These trips overseas fueled her desire for personal travel to Europe several times and other areas of the country. Colleen was an avid reader with an inquisitive mind, always seeking more knowledge. She and classmate, Irene (Glickson) Rossman arranged many high school class reunions to take place in the cities. She loved dinner and a movie with her special and many dear friends. Colleen, loving daughter and extremely kind and caring person, will be greatly missed by her parents, her dear relatives and beloved friends and co-workers. Colleen is survived by her parents Ray and Evelyn of Devils Lake and special friends Paul Juntilla and Irene Rossman; many aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. Colleen was preceded in death by her grandparents.
