Description	:	The Hamilton County Register, Aurora, Nebraska 7 May 1926 Columbus Kilgore, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kilgore was born in Iowa in the year 1854 on the 21st day of August. Departed from this life at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Fred Nuss on the 24th day of April. He was 71 years, 8 months, and three days of age. He was married to Mrs. Ellen Kibler of Iowa in May 1885. To this union two children were born, Mrs. Myrtle Bird of Stockham, Nebraska and the other daughter, Abbie Ruth, died when about seventeen... Read More	The Hamilton County Register, Aurora, Nebraska 7 May 1926 Columbus Kilgore, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Kilgore was born in Iowa in the year 1854 on the 21st day of August. Departed from this life at the home of his granddaughter, Mrs. Fred Nuss on the 24th day of April. He was 71 years, 8 months, and three days of age. He was married to Mrs. Ellen Kibler of Iowa in May 1885. To this union two children were born, Mrs. Myrtle Bird of Stockham, Nebraska and the other daughter, Abbie Ruth, died when about seventeen years of age. Mr. Kilgore came from Iowa to Cherry county, Nebraska, then from Cherry county to Stockham about the year 1893. His wife died the ear 1912 on the nineteenth of January. He was one of the first section foremen upon the railroad. He leaves behind the one daughter, Mr. Arthur Bird, four grandchildren and one great-grandchild. Also one sister and four brothers. They are Mrs. Abe Bailey of Wyoming, Winfield Scott and Willie of Nevada, Samuel of California, and Marion of Utah. There are besides those many other relatives and friends who feel the loss at his death. Those from a distance who attended the funeral services were Mrs. Bailey of Casper, Wyoming and Winfield Scott Kilgore of Nevada, also his sister's daughter and husband, Mr. and Mrs. W. F. Parker of Woodlake, Nebraska. Brother Kilgore joined the Masonic Fraternity many years ago and was at the time of his death a member of this splendid order at Harvard, Nebraska. Mr. Kilgore had many friends indeed. He had an art of making friends. He seemed to know everybody and every body hailed him with delight. As we bid farewell the words of Katrina Trash come to us. Lie down and Sleep We haven't the God to Keep The sorrow which is part Of our heart When thou doest awake It still tis there to take We utter no wild complaint Mercy waits thy hand If thou should'st faint God understands. The funeral service was held at the house of his daughter at 2 p.m. and at the Presbyterian church at 2:30 p.m. The Rev. Clarence V. Powell preaching the sermon.
