Conrad was born December 15, 1928 in Ames, Iowa, to Edward and Genevieve (Mason) Muzzy. He graduated from Marshalltown (Iowa) High School in 1946 and received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University in 1953. Read More	Madison- Conrad Norman Muzzy, age 84, of Madison, passed away May 15, 2013, at Oakwood Village University Woods, his newly adopted home. Conrad was born December 15, 1928 in Ames, Iowa, to Edward and Genevieve (Mason) Muzzy. He graduated from Marshalltown (Iowa) High School in 1946 and received a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering from Iowa State University in 1953. Three days after graduating, he was drafted and served in the U.S. Army Ordnance Corps. After working at Monsanto and Proctor & Gamble, Conrad owned and operated a restaurant and bowling alley in Blanchester, Oh., and a candy store in Cincinnati. In retirement he worked in a bank and a small machine shop. At a high school class reunion, he met classmate Elizabeth (Wester) Wulfsberg, who played the role of his mother in a middle school play. They married on October 2, 1993. Conrad and Elizabeth enjoyed visiting friends and family throughout the United States and Norway, passing through the Panama Canal, conversing in English with Polish school children and rafting down the Colorado River, among many other adventures. A life-long student of WWII history, a visit to Gen. Patton's grave was a highlight of his later travels. He enjoyed researching his ancestors' role in the events of Lexington, Mass., and proudly wore his Revolutionary War costume. He met every week with his wood carving friends, using several of his father's old tools. He played supernumerary parts in the Cincinnati Opera. Conrad was a member of Grace United Methodist Church, Blanchester, Ohio, St. Paul's United Methodist Church, Madeira, Ohio, and, more recently, Luther Memorial Church, Madison. For 23 years he visited prisoners in Ohio as a part of Kairos Prison Ministry International and treasured the relationships developed inside and on the street. He was eager to see Kairos ministry develop in his new home state, and served briefly in the newly-formed Wisconsin chapter. Surviving are his wife, Elizabeth; brother Dennis (Elaine) of Lexington, Ky.; sister-in-law Ann Muzzy of Farmington, Minn.; children Anna Muzzy (Jeff Bell) of Seattle and Sarah Hankins of West Chester, Oh.; step-children Rolf (Susan) Wulfsberg of Madison, Caro (Lou) Giordano of South Salem, N.Y., Kristin (Eric) Moore of Concord, Mass., and Eric (Heather) Wulfsberg of Minneapolis; eight grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by brother Darwin and daughter Jamie. Funeral services will be held at OAKWOOD VILLAGE RESURRECTION CHAPEL, 6201 Mineral Point Road, at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, May 25, the Rev. Franklin Wilson presiding. With visitation from 9:30 until 10:30. Luncheon follows at Garner Park. Burial will take place May 27 at Rose Hill Memorial Gardens, Marshalltown, Iowa.
