She died Wednesday, May 17, 2017, at Faith Regional Health Services in Norfolk 1933-2017 Connie was born May 24, 1933, to William and Helen (Fuchs) Werkmeister in Stanton County. She was baptized March 21, 1937, at the Congregational Church in Stanton and confirmed March 18, 1957, at St. Peter’s (Heights) Church. Connie grew up in Stanton County and graduated from Stanton High School. On June 10, 1956, she married Arnold Praeuner at the Congregational Church in Stanton. They made their home south of Battle Creek on the family farm. Connie worked as a farm wife and mother, raising their five children and taking care of the home. After the children were grown, Connie worked as an aid at the Norfolk Nursing Center and then Community Pride Care Center for several years until her retirement. Connie loved to garden, take care of her flowers, draw, paint, fish and camp and anything with the outdoors. One of her favorite tasks was to mow on the farm. Connie is survived by her spouse, Arnold; their five children, Cindy Praeuner of Arlington, Wash., Randy and Renee Praeuner of Norfolk, Starr Praeuner of Arlington, Wash., Jeff and Michelle Praeuner and Wayne and Tamela Praeuner, all of Norfolk; and four grandchildren, Danica, Derrick, Jonathan and Clara Praeuner, also of Norfolk. She was preceded in death by her parents, two brothers and a sister.
