Read More	“The Herald” (Piedmont, W.Va.), Friday 19 June 1908: Death of An Estimable Young Lady We note this week, with genuine sorrow and regret, shared alike by young and old among us here in Piedmont and Westernport, the death of Miss Consuello Berisford, youngest daughter of Mrs. Catherine Berifsord and the late Thomas Berisford, also a sister of our fellow townsman G. W. Berisford. The deceased was a native of Piedmont, passing her twenty-eighth birthday in January last, on the 27th of the month. Just after her graduation at the Davis Free School of Piedmont, ten years ago, she entered the College of Millersville, Pennsylvania, for special work and training. While there she contracted the illness that made her an invalid ever afterward, her sufferings easing only with her death, which was sudden and altogether unexpected by relatives and friends, and which occurred at her late home on Second Street, about two o’clock in the morning of Monday last, June 15, 1908. During all the time of her long illness was in the constant care of loving hands, mother and sisters evincing a solicitude that evidenced how dearly they anticipated every want and wish of the patient sufferer. Friends of the family joined with the relatives I this regard and care for one with so loving a disposition, and, whose temperament had won for her so many admirers, among her young associates especially. The funeral services took place Tuesday afternoon, and were held at St. James Protestant Episcopal Church in Westernport. By reason of the illness of the Rector, Rev. Mr. Stowell, the Rev. Mr. Fish, of Davis, West Virginia, officiated, conducting the solemn funeral __ of that denomination. A large gathering of friends of the deceased and of the family attended these services. The pallbearers were the following: Horace P. Whitworth, Patrick Morgan, David Thomas. Lewis Williams, Charles Beck, Joseph Mansfield, Charles Getty and Charge Bell. Sympathetic friends testified their esteem in the beautiful and appropriate flowers, that covered the casket of the deceased, and which were __ to loving hands to the place of interment in Philos Cemetery.
