Her parents are buried in Ohio Cemetery, Burlington Junction, Nodaway County Missouri The Edgar Sun (Edgar, NE) Fri, Aug 25, 1933 - pg 1 Cora Alice Dobson Cora Alice Nicholas was born July 17, 1873, on a farm near Burlington Junction, Missouri, and departed this life at her home near Edgar, Nebr., August 16, 1933, at the age of 60 years and 29 days. She received her education and grew to womanhood in the community where she was born. At an early age she united with the Christian church, but in later life transferred her membership into the M. E. church (sic) at Edgar, Nebraska. She was loyal and faithful to her church always taking a great interest in the church work and attended services as long as health would permit. On July 20, 1892, she was united in marriage to William F. Dobson and to this union one daughter, Grace Edith, was born. In 1902 the family moved from Missouri to a farm near Edgar, Nebraska. She was a member of the Order of the Eastern Star and Royal Neighbors of America. Mrs Dobson was a very devoted wife, a loving mother and a kind neighbor. At all times she was interested in her home and family also for the good of the community. A very sympathetic nature always willing to share joys and sorrows with all. She bore her sufferings uncomplainingly and was ready to go when her Master called. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Mrs John Nearhood, one grandson, Dean Nearhood, three brothers and four sisters, H. E. Nicholas, Mrs J. F. Hackett and Mrs Edd Griffey of Burlington Junction, Missouri; T. A. Nicholas of Fort Collins, Colo., J. G. Nicholas of Norfolk, Nebr., Mrs Zeffa Johnson of Denver, Colo., and Mrs J. O. Meek of Madison, New York, also many other relatives and friends. Funeral services were conducted at the Methodist church Friday, August 18, 1933 at 2:30 p.m., Rev S. G. Rasmusson being in charge. The Methodist mixed quartette consisting of Mrs Lydia Phelps, Miss Celia Merrill, M. E. Cushing and Ralph McKinney sang. The pallbearers were James Cassell, Ernest Ericson, Earl Larson, Clinton Lindberg, Ralph Boswell and E. J. Bohling. Interment was made in the Edgar cemetery.
