GEORGE FOLSOM PASSES AWAY SATURDAY Mrs George Folsom, 73, passed away suddenly last Saturday,, November 29th, in her family home. Mrs. Folsom, whose maiden name was Cora Combs, spent sixty-five years of her life in Aspen and remembered as well as anyone living the past glory of the town that loved her as a girl. The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Combs, she was born in Kenton, Ohio on April 11, 1874. Her father was one of the first men to come to Ashcroft, and it was there she spent her first few years in Colorado. When the family moved to Aspen in 1883 Mrs. Folsom entered into the growing life of the town with great enthusiasm and was much like and respected by all. She graduated from the Aspen schools, where she had been an honor student, and later married George Folsom on the 20th of April 1904. Mrs Folsom possess a lively memory and enjoyed chatting with old friends about the past, remembering the time she caught a glimpse of Baby Doe Tabor sitting, proud in an ostrich plume hat in a stagecoach, remembering when she led the grand march with the Captain of thee militia at the ball held in celebration of the opening of the Armory and thinking of all the friends who once lived in Aspen. She was a member of the Episcopal Church. Those left to mourn her passing are her husband George B. Folsom; five nephews Harry Brown, Jr., Clarkson Brown, Charles Folsom,, Frank Everest, Jr., and Charles B. Everest and one niece, Mrs. Doris Crowder. Funeral services were held in the home on Hallam Street where she had spent most of her life, at two in the afternoon, Tuesday, December 2nd, followed by burial in Red Butte Cemetery.
