The deceased was 88 years old and had lived in this county for a number of years. The funeral was conducted this afternoon. I have been unable to determine where David Finley was buried, but it appears he was buried somewhere in Davis County. --------------- Obituary From Ottumwa Daily Courier, Friday, April 14, 1950, Page 15: Mrs. Cora Ella Blount, 83, a life-long resident of the Ottumwa area, died Thursday afternoon at Ottumwa hospital following a short illness. Her home was at 519 North Sheridan avenue. The daughter of David and Rebecca Finley, she was born in Wapello county May19, 1866. She was married to H.C. Blount August 2, 1886, in Ottumwa. He died in 1912. Surviving are two sons, Ralph Blount, Des Moines, and Fred Blount, Ottumwa; two daughters, Mrs. Harry Moyer and Mrs. Lester Murray, both of Ottumwa; 12 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death, besides, her husband, by her parents, a son, a daughter, four brothers and two sisters. Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the Johnson funeral chapel, conducted by the Rev. Donald H. Gill of First Christian church. Burial will be in Shaul cemetery. The casket will be taken to the residence late this afternoon and will be returned to the chapel Saturday morning. Pallbearers will be Wade Scranton, Leroy Thomas, Charles Blount, Frank Moyer, Milt Murray and Bob Hild.
