Her maiden name was Cora Jane Elliot and was born in DeKalb County, Ind., Aug 29, 1877. She was married about 15 years ago to John Lancaster. To this union were born six children-five girls and one boy. The oldest child, Cleo, being fourteen years and the youngest being three months. She joined the Methodist church while young and afterward joined the Christian Church at Pleasant Ridge, where she remained as a member until she died. The cause of her death was cardiac hyperprophy. She had been a patient sufferer for several weeks and her death had been expected for some time. She is one who will be greatly missed, being an active church worker and a strong worker in the Ladies Aid Society. She always held up for the right and tried to look on the bright side of everything. She leaves three sisters, Mrs. Emma Conrod and Mrs. Dorcas Rufner, of Waterloo, and Mrs. Ed Meeks, of this place, and three brothers, Orland, of Ashley; James, of Pleasant Lake; and Jesse, of Steubenville, Ohio, all of whom were here to attend the funeral which was conducted by Rev. Edw. Schneider, of Brownstown, Tuesday afternoon at two o'clock. The Ladies' Aid Society showed their respect by giving a nice wreath of flowers. The family has the sympathy of the entire community in their hour of sorrow.
