Cora Judith “Judy” Harner, daughter of Olaf M. and Celia (Clovning) Holland, was born October 10, 1923 near Parker, SD. She was baptized at Bethany Lutheran Church. Her parents moved to the Viborg, SD vicinity where she attended Hillcrest rural school. She was confirmed in the Lutheran faith at Bethlehem Lutheran Church at Hooker, SD. She graduated from Viborg High School and then attended Nettleton Commercial College in Sioux Falls, SD. Judy was united in marriage with Cletus M. Harner on September 9, 1944 at Scandia Lutheran Church in Centerville, SD. They were blessed with two children, Paul Duane and Julie Anne. They lived in Celina, OH while her husband served in WWII. They returned to Sioux Falls in 1948. She was employed in Sioux Falls as a secretary and bookkeeper. Judy then worked as the Office Manager of Sioux Falls VA Federal Credit Union until her retirement in 1980. They moved to Bella Vista, AR in 1990. Judy was an active member of Our Saviors Lutheran Church in Sioux Falls, the WELCA and served in Sunday School. In Bella Vista, AR she joined United Lutheran Church, and was active in WELCA and Visiting Phoebes. Her husband, Cletus, passed away on September 23, 1992. In 2001, she moved to Mesa, AZ where she became active in Victory Lutheran Church in Mesa. Grateful for having shared her life are her children, Paul D. Harner, Webster, WI and Julie (Gary) Moran, Mesa, AZ; nine grandchildren; 13 great grandchildren; She was preceded in death by her husband; and her parents.
