Eugene Alexander of the First Methodist church in charge. Mrs. J. W. Russell and Mrs. Russell Newcomm sang as special music: "The Old Rugged Cross" and "God Be With You." Casket bearers were: Lee Miller, Henry Steffensen, Wm. Anderson, Amos Howard, Eddie Gruber and Morris Goecke. Interment was in the Coon Rapids Cemetery. The life sketch as read at the service was as follows: Cora Laura, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas. J. Holloway was born at Albany, Indiana, on August 28,1896, and departed this life near Manning, on Dec. 2, 1948. She came with her parents to Iowa when one year old as they settled near Linden. At Rapid City, South Dakota, she was united in marriage to Irvin Anderson, who preceded her in death twelve years ago. Mrs. Anderson has made her home in Des Moines for the past six years, serving as hostess at Younkers. Besides her husband she was preceded in death by one son, Ernest, who lost his life in the battle of the Bulge, in Germany, one brother, Cleve, and one sister, Mrs. Bert Tuel. Mrs. Anderson is survived by one son, Leonard and one granddaughter, Jeanie Marie, of St. Paul, Minn., one brother Frank Holloway of St. Marys, six sisters, Mrs. Dan Siegfried of Templeton, Mrs. Elizabeth Heinze of Des Moines, Mrs. Lawrence Taylor of New Virginia, Mrs. Floyd Tuel of Coon Rapids, Mrs. Dimo Evanoff of Templeton, and Mrs. Dony Evanoff of Coon Rapids, several nieces, nephews and many friends. Mrs. Anderson was a member of the Methodist Church. According to Sheriff Tom Finegan and Dr. J.L. Cochran, county coroner, Mrs. Anderson was strangled by Emil Wiese, 66, retired Manning farmer who then piped car exhaust fumes into the car and took his own life. It apparently was a case of unrequited love.
