Her other daughter, Mrs. Wayne Wills, Clarksville, and her niece, Mrs. Howard G. Hudson, Wilmington, were there and it was a great day. She had a greeting card from President Nixon and a letter from Govenor Rhodes. Mrs. Crispin entertained 20 of her friends at a birthday party. Mrs. McVey received 100 yellow roses. Her cake was decorated with yellow confectionary roses and the center writing was "Mother 100 Years 1870-1970" Beautiful flower arrangements, gifts, cards, long distance calls and telegrams poured in from relatives and friends. In the evening her grandson, Ron Wills, Mrs. Wills and their sons, Gregg and Chris, Clarksville, were in Columbus to see her. Other grandchildren live on the west coast and one is in college in Indiana. She has six grandchildren and five great grandchildren. Cora Barrett was born near Leesburg in Highland County. She attended Wilmington College and taught school until she was married to Alvah McVey, May 1, 1895. She keeps active, keeps up on current events, reading newspapers and listening to TV and radio. She covers coat hangers with plastic wrap for her daughter's hospital twig. She corresponds with many relatives and friends and sends cards for special occasions. CORA McVEY Mrs. Cora Barrett McVey, 100, Columbus, a former Leesburg resident, died at Riverside Hospital in Columbus Wednesday morning following a month 's illness. Her husband, Alvah N. McVey, whom she married May 1, 1895, preceded her in death. Mrs. McVey celebrated her 100th birthday this year. She was born May 20, 1 870, in Leesburg, the daughter of John and Mary Davis Barrett. Surviving are two daughters, Mrs. Helen (Wayne) Wills, Clarksville, and Mrs. Mildred (Carl) Crispin, Columbus, with whom she resided; six grandchildren and five great-grandchildren. Services were conducted Friday at 8 P. M. at Schoedinger North West Chapel, 1740 Zollinger Road. Saturday services were held at Leesburg Friends Church at 2 P. M. with burial in Leesburg Cemetery.
