Read More	Obituary Cora Olga Weeks From The News Democrat Cora Long Weeks was born on Sept. 7, 1870, to Eli and Mary Long, whose family circle included six sons and six daughters, all of whom are now in the Silent City of those who have passed on. On Dec 15, 1956, she joined that great immortal throng. She was united in marriage to Mr. Charles William Weeks on May 1, 1895. He passed away Jan. 4, 1947. Four children had blessed this union - two deceased, and two survive - Cleneay, of Manchester, and Marie (Mrs. Joe West) of Winchester. In Youth, at the age of 16, she accepted the faith and membership in the Church of Christ and remained an active and loyal member throughout her many years. She was a charter member of the local Eastern Star and American Legion Auxiliary. She was a woman of good deeds and in times of illness when medical aid was difficult to obtain, she many times gave a helping hand to a sick child or whoever and wherever was a need of a kind neighborly deed. It is difficult for our youth to visualize a life without automobiles, radios, airplanes, television and numerous modern inventions, but Mrs. Weeks witnessed and marveled at their development, having herself lived as a girl without these. It is hard to conceive of so many changes in one's life span. Let us pause and drop a tear of regret that this beloved lady, who passed the four score by six years, must finally take up her silent way to the Great Beyond. Her memory will be cherished by those who were young years ago, as well as by those who are young now. Beside the son and daughter are five grandchildren and five great-grandchildren, who, with two daughters-in-law, and a son-in-lay, many nieces and nephews, mourn her passing. To her they were life's greatest interest and blessing. Her love for them was ever manifest. Sunset and evening star, And one clear call for me, And may there be no moaning of the bar When I put out to sea.
