Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, December 6, 2001 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Bernard's Catholic Church in Redfield. The Rev. Roger Geditz will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. A rosary will be at 6 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield. Visitation will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Thelen Funeral Home and for one hour prior to the service Thursday at the church. Corinne M. LaBrie was born May 2, 1910, to Theophil and Louise (Klapperich) La- Brie in Turton. She attended the Little Flower Convent School in Turton. She married Lester Fortin on Aug. 26, 1929, in Turton. They farmed for several farmers in the Turton, Doland and Conde areas. They started their own farm west of Turton where she raised a garden and canned. They later moved to Ashton and she worked at the Community Memorial Hospital in Redfield for several years. After he died in 1979, she continued to live in Ashton until moving to The Village Apartments in Redfield in 1995. She enjoyed cooking, gardening, crossword puzzles, playing cards and embroidering. She especially enjoyed the Christmas season. Survivors include nine sons, Lyle Fortin of Ashton, Claire Fortin and Donald (Romelle) Fortin, both of Redfield, Maynard (Joyce) Fortin of Bowdle, Jim Delmar (Betty) Fortin of Springdale, Ark., Keith (Betty) Fortin of White Bear Lake, Minn., Darwin Fortin of St. Paul, Minn., and Larry Fortin and Ronald (P.L.) Fortin, both of Phoenix; four daughters, Marvis (Keith) Hardesty of Clifton, Kan., Clarice (Steve) Robinson of Frankfort, and Darlene (Jim) Zens and Shirley (Russell) Sheridan, both of Redfield; one sister, Martha Dix of Aberdeen; 31 grandchildren; 66 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, one son, two grandchildren and two sisters in infancy. Casketbearers will be her grandsons. Honorary Casketbearers will be her granddaughters. Thelen Funeral Home in Redfield is in charge of arrangements.
