Following his honorable discharge, he took employment with Nichols Construction as a... Read More	Corky Moyle was born to Chester Moyle and Edna Hyatt Moyle on August 24, 1933, at Fairmont. He passed away Sunday, September 28, 2003 at the Fillmore County Hospital in Geneva at the age of 70 years, one month and three days. He was one of five children in the family. He attended school in Fairmont and was inducted into the United States Navy in March of 1953, serving during the Korean War until February of 1957. He served aboard the USS Redstart. Following his honorable discharge, he took employment with Nichols Construction as a heavy equipment operator. He worked for this company until 1971, when he went to work for Maurey Corporation in the same capacity. He later worked for Rich Wilke until 1998, when he retired after more than 40 years as a heavy equipment operator. Throughout this time, he maintained a passion for running heavy equipment and was well known in the business for his expertise in handling various pieces of equipment. He was married to Rita Elaine Ranabargar on June 28, 1961 and to them three children were born. In his leisure hours, he enjoyed socializing with co-workers, spending time at the VFW Club and driving about with his faithful companion, Sparky, the dog. He enjoyed finding hidden treasures, camping and sitting on his front porch. During his 40 years of operating heavy equipment, Corky was a dependable, hard worker, who always provided a good days labor for compensation received. Because of his travels to construction sites, he was literally a walking road map of Nebraska and Kansas. He was able to tell you how to get almost anywhere in either state, be it a small town or larger city, major highway or small back road travel route. He was preceded in death by his parents, Chester and Edna; wife, Rita; sister Betty of Oakland, Cal. and brother, John of Fairmont. He is survived by his special friend, Sparky; son, Jeff Moyle and wife Cindy; daughters, Teresa Schwartz and husband Brian and Betty Moyle and Bill Erb; sister Marge Mason of California and brother, Eddie Moyle of Washington; and by three grandchildren, Sam, Andy and Audrey. Memorial services were held at 10 a.m. on October 1 from the Farmer & Son Funeral Home in Geneva with Pastor Chris Lake officiating. Musical selections were "How Great Thou Art" and "God Be with You, Till We Meet Again." Private interment of the ashes will be held at Fairmont Public Cemetery, at a later date.
