Description	:	Corlys Leroy Hubbard, 88, a longtime resident and business man, died Saturday, April 28, 2001, at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee. Corlys was born Jan. 2, 1913 to Charles L. Hubbard and Mila (Smith) Hubbard in Clark, SD. He attended the University of Idaho at Moscow. In 1939 he came to the Wenatchee area to pick apples in order to make enough money to return to Moscow for the continuance of his studies. Read More	Corlys Leroy Hubbard, 88, a longtime resident and business man, died Saturday, April 28, 2001, at Central Washington Hospital in Wenatchee. Corlys was born Jan. 2, 1913 to Charles L. Hubbard and Mila (Smith) Hubbard in Clark, SD. He attended the University of Idaho at Moscow. In 1939 he came to the Wenatchee area to pick apples in order to make enough money to return to Moscow for the continuance of his studies. While in Wenatchee in the fall of 1939, he met Reba McMullen at the Nazareth Church. On Aug. 29, 1940, they were married at the Nazareth Church in Monroe. They lived in Monroe for 5 years before returning to Wenatchee where they had made their home since. In October of 1945, they operated a Christian Book Store, "Hi-Line Book & Bible Store" which they operated until June of 1993, some 53 years of ministry. Corlys also delivered laundry for Nanskivell's Cleaners for a number of years. He and his wife Reba worked with the American Sunday School Union for many years, starting Sunday Schools in rural areas where there were not any churches. He was very interested in young people and was involved with Kings Teens & Youth for Christ Ministries and enjoyed being a part of the Wenatchee Interchurch skating parties for many years. Corlys and Reba had been active members of the Gideon Organization as well as the Entiat Friends Church. Corlys is survived by his wife Reba Hubbard of Wenatchee; a daughter, Charlene Burkhart and husband, Gary of Moses Lake; two granddaughters, Rachel Liebrecht and husband, Jim of Las Vegas, NV and Candace Burkhart of Moses Lake; a grandson, Chris Burkhart and his wife, Nichol of Moses Lake; a greatgrandson, Caleb Burkhart; Robert Katon, who was like a son of Denver, CO; one brother and sister-in-law, Alvin and Ruth Hubbard of Clark, SD; a sister Marjory Bjugan of Roslyn, SD; several nieces, nephews and many loving friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Mila Hubbard and an infant niece, Betty Hubbard. Services will be held Thursday, May 3, 2001, at 11 a.m. at the Jones & Jones Colonial Chapel with Pastor Cathy Knox officiating.
