Description	:	Big Timber Pioneer, October 29, 1964 Mrs. Phillis Dies In South Dakota Mrs. Nealie Phillips, 90, died Saturday at Aberdeen, S. D., of coronary failure. She had been on a trip with her son-in-law George Lamch and family and suffered a fractured hip in a fall while visiting her son Wayne, with whom she had been staying since the accident. Mrs. Phillips was born March 15, 1874, at Cedar Grove, Mo., a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Alonzo Meddaw. Read More	Big Timber Pioneer, October 29, 1964 Mrs. Phillis Dies In South Dakota Mrs. Nealie Phillips, 90, died Saturday at Aberdeen, S. D., of coronary failure. She had been on a trip with her son-in-law George Lamch and family and suffered a fractured hip in a fall while visiting her son Wayne, with whom she had been staying since the accident. Mrs. Phillips was born March 15, 1874, at Cedar Grove, Mo., a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Samuel Alonzo Meddaw. Her father died when she was about a year and a half old and her mother. died about six years later. She then made her home with a half-sister. She married Tom Phillips November 10, 1890, in Missouri. They moved from that state to Oregon in 1900, remaining there until 1909 when they came to Big Timber. The Phillips lived in and near town until they homesteaded on Susie creek above McLeod in 1917. In 1940 they retired from the ranch and moved to Big Timber. Mrs. Phillips was an active member of the Evangelical United Brethren church. She was preceded in death by her husband in December 1943, and by two sons. Mrs. Phillips is survived by three sons, Wayne Phillips of Aberdeen, S. D., Rex Phillips of Pasco Wash., and Stanley Phillips of Livingston; six daughters, Mrs. Leeta Weaver of Hardin, Mrs. Elssie Downey of Pasco, Wash., Mrs. Ova Lamach of Big Timber, Mrs. Ruby Parks of Seattle, Mrs. Inez Haines of Great Falls and Mrs. Mescal Akridge of Anaheim, Calif; 19 grandchildren, 26 great-grandchildren and 10 great-great-grandchildren.
