Hixson died at her home in this city Tuesday afternoon after an illness of about ten days. She had been suffering with the measles but heart failure was the immediate cause of her death. Deceased was very quiet in disposition and was unassuming, but possessed many admirable qualities and was beloved by a large circle of friends, who will learn of her death with regret. Six children, Mrs. Cora Cooper of Derby, Mrs. Rosa Hollingshead of Russell, Mrs. Ella Buzzard of Belinda, Roldo Hixson of Russell, and Floyd and Fred Hixson of this city are left to mourn the loss of a kind and affectionate mother. Miss Cornelia E. King was born in Jackson county, Iowa, July 9, 1852. When but two years of age she came to this county where she has since resided. On April 29, 1869, she was united in marriage to Ezra Hixson, who passed away several years ago. She made her home in Cedar township until last fall when she moved to this city. Funeral services, conducted by Rev. Cunningham, were held at the family residence yesterday morning at nine o'clock, after which the remains were taken to the Sargent (Bethel) cemetery in Cedar township for interment.
