She was born September 9, 1893 in Wright County, Iowa, the daughter of Nick and Lena Koster Helmhout. On February 2, 1927 she was married to Franz Keller at Unionville, Missouri, moving to this community in 1937. her husband, Franz Keller survives. Two sons and a daughter by a former marriage... Two sons and a daughter by a former marriage are: Richard Shappell of Los Angeles, Calif., Edward Shappell of Gilbert, Arizona, and Mrs. Edna Lotta of Sacramento, Calif., a step-son, Joe Keller of Memphis, Missouri, four step daughters: Mrs. Marie Pierce of Pulaski, Iowa, Mrs. Emma Kennedy of Mt. Sterling, Iowa, Mrs. Ila Mae Howard of Sacramento, Calif., and Mrs. Martha Wellborn of Donnellson, Iowa twenty grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. Also surviving are two brothers and three sisters: Oscar Helmhout, Gilbert, Ariz., Nick Helmhout, Tucson, Ariz. Mrs. Gertrude States of Phoenix, Ariz, Mrs. Julius Roush, Tempe, Ariz., and Mrs. Harvey Craig, Meridian, Calif., two step-brothers: Paul Megrath and Dee Megrath, Milton, Ia., her step-mother: Mrs. Lily Helmhout, Milton, Ia. She was preceded in death by her parents, one daughter (Mrs. Ruth Koonts), and two granddaughters. The services were held at 2 p.m. April 18 at the Methodist church in Keosauqua with the Rev.
