Description	:	Cornelius was born to Harm and Grietje (Klaassen) Kuper. Cornelius married Jantje (Willems) on Feb. 1, 1862 in Weener Parish, Ostfriesland, Germany. To this union was born 5 children; Harm Cornelius, Dirk (Dick) Cornelius, Jan (John) Cornelius, Christian Cornelius and Folkert Cornelius. The following is from the Lennox Diamond Jubilee Book. Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius H. Kuper, who took up their residence in the Lennox vicinity more than a half century ago, were both natives of Germany. Mr. Kuper was born at Holthusen, Heide, Germany. Cornelius married Jantje (Willems) on Feb. 1, 1862 in Weener Parish, Ostfriesland, Germany. To this union was born 5 children; Harm Cornelius, Dirk (Dick) Cornelius, Jan (John) Cornelius, Christian Cornelius and Folkert Cornelius. The following is from the Lennox Diamond Jubilee Book. Mr. and Mrs. Cornelius H. Kuper, who took up their residence in the Lennox vicinity more than a half century ago, were both natives of Germany. Mr. Kuper was born at Holthusen, Heide, Germany. This couple was married in their native land on 1862, and during their several years residence abroad five children were born, namely: Harm, Dick, John, Chris and Folkert. In the spring of 1882 the family left Germany, immigrating to the United States. They settled in Grundy county, IA., where they remained for one year, and the to Harding county, IA., where they resided five years. They came to Lincoln County, locating three miles south of Lennox, in 1888. Here they devoted their attention to farming. Mr. Kuper passed away Nov. 8, 1912 on their farm enterprise. Following the death of her husband, Mrs. Kuper moved to Lennox, the same year, she passing away in 1926. Dick succumbed in 1917, Chris, 1919 and Harm died in 1935. The two children surviving include John, who makes his home at Caney, KS, and Folkert, who resides here.
