Read More	The Marysville Advocate (Marysville, KS) ~ Thursday, 10 Aug 1916 Cornelius M. Donahy died at St. Joseph's Hospital in Kansas City Friday afternoon at 4 o'clock at the age of 58 years, 10 months and 4 days. He had been ill for four months, suffering from kidney trouble, and was taken to the hospital a couple of weeks ago to undergo an operation in the hope that he might be relived, but while the operation was performed and he was given the best of medical attention, he continued to fail until relieved of his suffering in death His wife and his brother, D.J. Donahy, of this city were at his bedside from the time he was taken to the hospital. The body was brought to the family home near Lillis, arriving there Saturday, and the funeral was held Monday morning at 10 o'clock from St. Joseph's Catholic Church on Irish Creek. The funeral was one of the most largely attended of any held from that church and the services were conducted by Rev. Father Fitzgerald, assisted by Rev. Father August Redeker of Marysville, Rev. Father McManus of Wheaton and Rev. Father Sullivan of Salt Lake City. Deceased was a member of St. Joseph's Church and also of Lillis Council, Knights of Columbus. In honor of their deceased member, the Knights of Lillis Council marched in a body as an escort from the church to the Catholic cemetery, where interment was made. Cornelius M. Donahy was born in Chicago on September 30, 1857. When hardly two years old the family moved from Chicago to St. Joseph, where they made their home for a short time. Leaving St. Joseph, they came to this county and settled on Irish Creek, where they made their home for a year or so, after which they moved to Clear Fork Township, where deceased and his family have since made their home. Mr. Donahy was united in marriage to Miss Mary Brown in 1891, the ceremony being performed at St. Joseph's Catholic Church. To them were born nine children, five sons and four daughters. All the children and his wife survive him. The children are: Daniel, Connie, Francis, James, Gilbert, Marie, Katie, Helen and Gerva. He is also survived by one brother and one sister, D.J. Donahy and Mrs. M. Barlow, Jr., both of this city
