Description	:	Case Meys whose sudden death was mentioned last week was born in the Netherlands July fourth 1868 making his age forty one years and three months and three days at the time of his death. He came to the United States in 1889. For four year after his arrival he worked at Grand Rapids Michigan - coming to Sioux Center in 1893 where he clerked for the firm of Hyink and Balkema. November 1896 he was united in marriage to Miss Anna De Koster and 1900 they left Sioux Center for Woodstock Minnesota where he engaged in the general merchandise business... Read More	Case Meys whose sudden death was mentioned last week was born in the Netherlands July fourth 1868 making his age forty one years and three months and three days at the time of his death. He came to the United States in 1889. For four year after his arrival he worked at Grand Rapids Michigan - coming to Sioux Center in 1893 where he clerked for the firm of Hyink and Balkema. November 1896 he was united in marriage to Miss Anna De Koster and 1900 they left Sioux Center for Woodstock Minnesota where he engaged in the general merchandise business for himself. Last spring he closed out his business at Woodstock and at the time of his death was traveling for the Snider Preserve company of Cincinnati and living a Grand Island Nebraska. The wreck in which Mr. Meys lost his life occurred at Ardmore South Dakota October seventh. He had boarded westbound local freight train just ready to pull out when a second westbound freight rounded the curve and crashed into the way car. The engine went through the way car and fifteen other cars. As soon as word was received at Hull his wife's father and brother - L De Koster and son John - started for Grand Island to assist and comfort the wife and her little daughter. They returned to Hull with the body of the dear one Saturday evening and interment took place in Hope cemetery Monday afternoon. A very large number of friends turning out to show their respect for the departed. Alton Democrat 1909-10-23.
