Description	:	Son of Thomas Carter & Sarah Amos Married Mary Cotton From David M. Carter: The Darius Carter stone belongs to my great-great grandfather Darius M. Carter who died on a riverboat in Cincinnati while returning from Missouri in search of employment --(I think reason for trip.) He served in the Civil War and was stationed in Washington DC when Lincoln was assinated. He was thrown from a horse near there and suffered from bowel problems the rest of his life. He is actually buried in Chick-Carter cemetery and is one of the new military stones that Henry and I installed there on the newly reopened site. I went in to the local Civil war group under Darius's name and military service record as he was my closest relative that I found. I wear his unit number, company, etc. on my civil war hat and his corporal rank to honor him.
