| Description | : | John William Jones was born in 1842. He enlisted on 6/24/1861 in the Nottoway (Jeffress Co.) Virginia Light Artillery. He was shown as absent sick until he was able to join the company on 4/2/1862. John was then shown as present on the 4/30/1862, 6/30/1862, 11/1/1862, 6/30/1863 and 10/1864 muster rolls. He was erroneously reported as died in service on a post war roster from the amputation of both feet the day after the fight at Kenesaw Mountain, Georgia. John W. Jones died in 1932.
