Joseph married Mary E. Lottridge on January 6, 1861, in Wapello County, Iowa. His last name in the on-line marriage records is spelled Beckey. According to his gravestone he "Fell at Donaldson." According to the death information shown below, found on ancestry.com, he is buried at the Fort Donelson National Cemetery; however, I do not see his name on the cemetery's list of burials. According to their website, there were 512 men whose remains were unable to be identified when they were moved from the battlefield to the national cemetery. It's possible that Joseph was one of those unknown men. Since Joseph does have a gravestone here in Shaul Cemetery, is is also probable that he was later interred here.
