Description	:	Civil War Union Soldier. He served during the Civil War in Companies E and F of the 8th Pennsylvania Volunteer Cavalry, rising to the rank of Corporal. Family history records that although Robert was a Quaker, he was swept up in the enormous excitement at the beginning of the war and volunteered with the 8th Pennsylvania Calvary. He saw action in "Kenaan's Charge" where they were all said to have been killed, but Corp Folwell was captured and ended up as a prisoner in Belle Isle, Libby and finally in the death camp at Andersonville, where he survived the...
