Description	:	Timothy Peters was born August 1840 or 1841 in Fairfield, Franklin County, Vermont; the son of Victory Peters and Louise (Jones) Peters (second of Victory's three wives). Lucretia Sarah (Flood) Peters was his stepmother. Timothy, his father, stepmother, eight siblings (Munson, Eurbin, Nelson, Sarah, Ashley, Wesley, Abigail, and Clementine) and several uncles, aunts and cousins came to the Adrian area, Monroe County, Wisconsin in 1854 (some came a few years later) from Fairfield, Franklin County, Vermont. Read More	Timothy Peters was born August 1840 or 1841 in Fairfield, Franklin County, Vermont; the son of Victory Peters and Louise (Jones) Peters (second of Victory's three wives). Lucretia Sarah (Flood) Peters was his stepmother. Timothy, his father, stepmother, eight siblings (Munson, Eurbin, Nelson, Sarah, Ashley, Wesley, Abigail, and Clementine) and several uncles, aunts and cousins came to the Adrian area, Monroe County, Wisconsin in 1854 (some came a few years later) from Fairfield, Franklin County, Vermont. One sister either died or married and did not make the trip. During the trip, Tim's little brother Wesley was run over by the wheel of a horse drawn wagon and died. Wesley was buried along the way to Wisconsin. Four more siblings (Lydia, Anna Louisa, David and Mary) were added to the family after their arrival in Wisconsin. Timothy was a Civil War Veteran. He enlisted on the 28th of October, 1861. Tim was a Corporal in Company A, 3rd Cavalry Regiment, Wisconsin. They saw a lot of action, mostly in Missouri and Arkansas. He mustered out on 30th of January 1865. Three of his brothers also served; Munson, Nelson and Ashley. Munson and Nelson served in Company A along side Tim. All four of the brothers survived the war. Timothy was married to Sarah J. Windsor on the 21st of November, 1870 in Monroe County, Wisconsin. They had two sons; Harry T. Peters (1873-1878) buried in Adrian, Wisconsin and Minor Clinton Peters (1875-1945) buried in Idaho Falls, Idaho. After little Harry died of scarlett fever, Tim, Sarah, Minor and his in-laws homesteaded in Hanson County, Dakota Territory ending up in Alexandria. Tim farmed most of his life. After Sarah died, he married Anna L. (McCullough) Dobson on March 23, 1893 in Winnebago County, Illinois (where Anna grew up); adding three step-children (John H., David B. and Sarah J. Dobson) to his family. Timothy died August 2, 1906 in Miner County, South Dakota. Timothy died before his four grandchildren (Dale F., Harry B., Ailsa L. and Irma C. Peters) were born.
