Description	:	His father was Richard Bunch Hopson 1803-1873 His mother was Rhoda Yarbough 1805-1845 As related by his great-great-grand niece, Big Springs Primitive Baptist Church ejected Brother Young Hopson and several relatives in 1863 for "joining the enemy of his country to subjugate the South". They were re-admitted in July 1865, but by September 1865 they were ejected again for joining with another church without asking for a letter of dismissal. It was about that time that they moved to Grainger County.
