Description	:	Corrine Haws, 89, of Heartwell died Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, at Mount Carmel Home in Kearney. Corrine was born Dec. 18, 1922, northeast of Minden in Liberty Township to Rodney and Lena (Kuehn) Wells. In August 1943, she married Vernon Meester. In February 1950, she married Don Haws. He died in September 2002. Survivors include her son, Gene Meester of Grand Island; daughter, Merna Cline and her husband, Butch, of Kearney; brother, Duane Wells and his friend Velda of Minden; granddaughter, Kristi Purintun and her husband, Jeff, of Overton; grandsons, Todd Cline and his wife, Lisa, of... Read More	Corrine Haws, 89, of Heartwell died Friday, Dec. 23, 2011, at Mount Carmel Home in Kearney. Corrine was born Dec. 18, 1922, northeast of Minden in Liberty Township to Rodney and Lena (Kuehn) Wells. In August 1943, she married Vernon Meester. In February 1950, she married Don Haws. He died in September 2002. Survivors include her son, Gene Meester of Grand Island; daughter, Merna Cline and her husband, Butch, of Kearney; brother, Duane Wells and his friend Velda of Minden; granddaughter, Kristi Purintun and her husband, Jeff, of Overton; grandsons, Todd Cline and his wife, Lisa, of Kearney, and Brent Cline of Kearney; great-granddaughters, Sara and Abby Purintun of Overton, and Anessa Cline of Kearney; and great-grandsons, Jared and Josh Cline of Kearney. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Iris Bungard; brothers, Ivan and Owen Wells; and great-grandson, Jordan Purintun. She was the oldest of five children. She attended school at District 47. She had lived on the family farm until May 2011, when her health began to fail after a fall. She was a faithful member of the church and Altar Society, past president and longtime member of the 3 H's Extension Club, and a member of the Auxiliary of Pink Ladies. She and Don were in a square dance club. Corrine sewed many of Don's western shirts and her dresses to match. Her family and friends always came first, and she could always be counted on to give a helping hand. She spent many years gathering information for the family histories. She loved working in her huge vegetable and flower gardens, and playing cards and games. She will be missed by many of us for her beautiful smile. Burial was in the Minden Cemetery, Minden, NE.
