Description	:	Coy Corrine Garton, 101, of Baxter, passed away on Friday, June 10, 2016 at Baxter Care Center surrounded by her loving daughters. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 14, 2016 from 5:00 -7:00 p.m. at the Congregational United Church of Christ in Baxter. Her funeral service will be held on Wednesday, June 15, 2016 at the Church at 2:00 p.m. Burial will follow in the Restland Cemetery in Baxter. Coy was born to Lloyd and Bertha (Dent) Crawford in Humeston, Iowa on February 5, 1915. She attended Corydon High School and graduated in 1932. Following school she married Clair Garton on April 9, 1934 in Bethany Missouri. In 1936 the couple relocated to Baxter where they raised their family. Coy worked as a housekeeper for Dr. Kenneth McKenzie and Boyd Nichol Funeral Home, a bookkeeper for Baxter Grain and Coal, and was the Baxter City Clerk retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Congregational United Church of Christ in Baxter. Coy enjoyed spending time with her family, reading, sitting on her front porch, and making crafts out of plastic canvas. Those left to cherish her loving memories are her children Norma Jean Richeson, Karen (Dean) Flora, and Gerri Garton; 11 grandchildren; 30 great-grandchildren; 19 great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Coy was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son Doug, son-in-law Stanley Richeson, brother Dwight Crawford, sisters Ada DeJong, Bernice Greene, Jessie Pollock, and Florence Butler, granddaughter Alice Andrews, great-granddaughter Mackenzie Bestell, and great-grandson Lincoln Garton.
