(Wacker) Merrill was born on Friday; September 8, 1939 in Scotch Grove; Jones County, Iowa. She was the daughter of: Milo and Bessie (Head) Wacker. Coyla graduated from Delmar High School in 1957. She married Henry Merrill on Jan. 11, 1959 in Maquoketa, Iowa. Coyla worked for over 20 years at the Clinton Community Schools as an assistant cook and para-educator, retiring in 2002. She did some local modeling for K's Studio in Davenport. She was a member of the Second Reformed Church, Fulton, where she sang with the Sunbeams, active with Congregational Life and Willing Workers. She was a member of the AMVETS Auxiliary and CURVES of Clinton. She enjoyed sewing, boating, fishing, dancing, reading, traveling, and spending time with her family. Coyla L. (Wacker) Merrill, age 70, passed away on Tuesday; May 18, 2010 at the University of Iowa Hospital in Iowa City. Those left to mourn her passing are: Her husband: Henry of Clinton, Iowa. Her two daughters: Coral (Rod) Decker and Vicki (Keith) Norman both of Fulton, Illinois. Her son: Dean (Brenda) Merrill of Clinton, Iowa. Her seven grandchildren: Nathan, Kelvin, Brandon, Samuel, Sydney, Sadie, and Sara. Her great granddaughter: Payton. Her four step grandchildren: Sarah, Erica, Rhea, and Karley. Her six step great grandchildren. Also her brother: Thomas Wacker of Newton, Kansas. Coyla was preceded in death by her parents and her two sisters. May they rest in peace. May God bless her memory and give strength to those who mourn. Visitation will be from: 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 pm. on Friday; May 21, 2010 at the Pape Funeral Home in Clinton, Iowa. Funeral services will begin at: 9:00 a.m. on Saturday; May 22, 2010 at the Second Reformed Church in Fulton, Illinois. Interment will be at the Springdale Cemetery in Clinton, Iowa. The Pape Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
