He was the son of the late Russell & Lela Shearer Melson. He died Sunday December 17, 2017, in Somerset, Pulaski County, KY, at the age of 75 years, seven months, and 27 days. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sons, Eric Russell Melson and Timothy Creon Melson. Creon was owner of Melson Roofing for over 45 years, attended Melson Ridge Community Separate Baptist Church, a member of the Chamber of Commerce and a strong Republican. Survivors include: His wife: Betty Coomer Melson of Cundiff, KY One son: Richie & his wife Angela Melson of Cundiff, KY Two daughters: Judy & her husband Tony Grant of Cundiff, KY; and Rhonda and her husband David Begley of Coburg, KY.
