Curtis Allen Stecher was born on February 18, 1952 to Jerry and Jennie (Sup) Stecher in West Point. He attended St. Wenceslaus Catholic School and graduated from Dodge High School in 1970. On September 28, 1974, Curtis married Rebecca Hamel at St. Wenceslaus Catholic Church in Dodge. He continued his father’s legacy at Dodge Oil Company where Curtis worked his entire life. Curtis was an avid baseball fan with his favorite team being the New York Yankees. Patriotism and the 4th of July holiday kindled his love of fireworks. When he wasn’t working on his 1969 Cutlass, Curtis looked forward to every moment he spent with his grandchildren. Survivors include his wife, Rebecca, of Dodge; children, Caroline (Justin) Poston of Omaha, Kelly (Jon) Erb of Gretna, Jerry “J.J.” (Lindsay) Stecher of Gretna, and Jody Stecher of Dodge; grandchildren, Hayden and Harper Poston, Corryn and Adison Erb, and Cal Stecher; sister, Connie (Joe) Carmody of Ventura, CA; brother, Randy (Linda) Stecher of Dodge; mother-in-law, Lorraine Hamel of Dodge; and the Dodge Oil Crew. Curtis is preceded in death by his parents.
