Description	:	Curtis Boyce Mitchell, who died at his home at Unity, February 20th, 1922, was the only child of Curtis E. and Martha Parkhurst Mitchell. He was born in Unity March 27, 1871. While he has been in poor health for a number of years, his friends did not realize his trouble was serious, and his death was entirely unexpected; and a great shock to his friends. Read More	Curtis Boyce Mitchell, who died at his home at Unity, February 20th, 1922, was the only child of Curtis E. and Martha Parkhurst Mitchell. He was born in Unity March 27, 1871. While he has been in poor health for a number of years, his friends did not realize his trouble was serious, and his death was entirely unexpected; and a great shock to his friends. He took a cold and heart trouble developed rapidly causing his death after an illness of only four days. Mr. Mitchell was educated in the public schools of Unity; then attended the Maine Central Institute at Pittsfield, from which school he was graduated in 1890. He then had employment in a drug store in Dexter for one year and a half. Then he took a two year course in Pharmacy at the University of Maine, after which he had employment Bangor for about twelve and a half years. Sixteen years ago he returned to Unity, buying his father's store where he has since conducted a drug business. He was a member of Rising Virtue Lodge, #10 F. and A. M., Mt. Moriah Chapter, #6 R.A.M., and Bangor Council #5 R. and S.M. He leaves to mourn their loss, two sisters, Miss Mary P. Mitchell of Boston and Mrs. J. W. Sawyer of Fairfield; an aunt, Mrs. Sarah Twiss of Stockton Springs; and several cousins. He was always attentive to business, very kind and obliging, always willing to help any good work. A liberal contributor to the church and all church work, a true friend, a good neighbor and citizen, he will be greatly missed. His devotion to his parents, and after his father's death, to his stepmother, and especially during her last lingering illness was as touching as unusual. The funeral was from his late home, February 23rd, under direction F. M. Fairbanks. Sidney J. Willis, Pastor of the Universalist Church of Pittsfield, spoke words of comfort to the bereaved friends. Bearers were F. A. Bartlett, Clair Whitten, James Vickery and George Mosher. The floral offerings from many friends were abundant and beautiful, and testified to the high esteem in which he was held. Interment was in Pond Cemetery.
