Description	:	Curtis was born January 7, 1924 in Dickinson County Iowa to Oscar and Elizabeth (Beck) Jorth. He wanted to be a Lutheran minister, and enrolled in Trinity Seminary at Dana College in Blair, Nebraska. He had nearly graduated, but in May, 1946 he fell ill. He went back to school, but by early December had to go back home. He was under the care of Dr. Jones in Spencer, Iowa from January 13, 1947 until Curtis' death at 2:50 p.m. March 2, 1947. He wanted to be a Lutheran minister, and enrolled in Trinity Seminary at Dana College in Blair, Nebraska. He had nearly graduated, but in May, 1946 he fell ill. He went back to school, but by early December had to go back home. He was under the care of Dr. Jones in Spencer, Iowa from January 13, 1947 until Curtis' death at 2:50 p.m. March 2, 1947. Dr. Jones said the cancer, of 10 months duration, had metastasized and brought death. Curtis was 23 years, 1 month, 25 days old when he entered eternity. Printed in the March 6, 1947 - The Enterprise, Blair, Nebraska CURTIS JORTH RITES HELD WEDNESDAY Funeral services were held in Spencer, Iowa yesterday (Wednesday) for Curtis Jorth, 26, son of Mr. and Mrs. Oscar Jorth of Spencer. Mr. Jorth had been a student at the Trinity Seminary here and would have been ordained as minister in the spring. He had been forced to give up his studies and return to his home the fore part of December because of illness.
