Frazer, an old-time resident of Hardin and Marshall counties, and one of the pioneer auctioneers of Iowa. Mr. Frazer, who made his home with his daughter, Mrs. Adila B. Johnson, 218 Player street, was at work putting a new window over a porch. Without any warning Mr. Frazer toppled over on his side. He was taken into the house, and Dr. A. R. Lynn was called. The physician found Mr. Frazer dead, and ascribed heart disease as the cause. Curtis Ottwell Frazer was a native of Boone county, Indiana, having been born Nov. 19, 1840, near Thornton. He was united in marriage with Jane D. Hockett at Mount Pleasant, O., Oct. 28, 1860, and Mrs. Frazer's death, on May 12, 1914, ended almost fifty-four years of married life. The golden wedding of the couple was celebrated in this city Oct. 28, 1910. Three months following their marriage Mr. and Mrs. Frazer moved to Thorntown, Ind., where they lived two years, only to return to Henry county, Ohio, Mrs. Frazer's girlhood home, for a residence of six years. In 1868 Mr. and Mrs. Frazer came west and settled in Hardin county, and for seventeen years lived at Union. They came to this city thirty years ago. Mr. Frazer was engaged in auctioneering until within quite recent years, when he was compelled to give it up owing to the strain on his throat. In addition to the daughter at whose home he died Mr. Frazier is survived by one son, Albanus L. Frazer, 603 North Center street, and three sisters --Mrs. Abt Elliott, Round Lake, Minn.; Mrs. Matilda Corssbie, of Salem; and Mrs. Elzena D. Cox, of Whittier, Cal. Mr. Frazer was a member of the Baptist church and of Marshall Lodge, No. 108, A. F. and A. M Rev. R. B. Davidson will conduct a short service at the Johnson home Friday afternoon at 2:30, and the body will be taken to Union Saturday morning for burial beside Mrs. Frazer's grave in the Union cemetery. Masonic rites will be observed in the burial services.
