Description	:	Curtis R. Larkin, 69, of Brookings, SD, passed away Friday, October 28, 2016 at the Golden Living Center in Arlington, SD. Graveside Services with a military honor guard will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 5, 2016 at First Lutheran Cemetery in Brookings. Anyone wishing to be part of the procession should meet at Rude’s Funeral Home at 10:45 a.m. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Friday, November 4, 2016 at Rude’s Funeral Home. Rude’s Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements. Curtis Rolland Larkin was born November 3, 1946 in Brookings, South Dakota, to Albert Vernon and Olga (Olson) Larkin. He was a life-long resident of Brookings. Following graduation from Brookings High School, Curtis joined the Army and served his country in the Vietnam War. He then returned to Brookings where he lived and worked while raising his family. He served in the Brookings Police Department, worked at Daktronics, and Auto Body Specialties throughout the years. Curtis is survived by his daughter, Shannon (Jason) Sempsrott; granddaughter, Nora Sempsrott; brother, Harlan Larkin; sister-in-law, June Larkin; and many nieces, nephews, and friends. Curtis was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Baby Larkin and Robert Larkin; and sister-in-law Janice Larkin. The family prefers memorial donations be directed to the local V.F.W. and wishes to thank the Department of Veterans Affairs and the Sioux Falls V.A.
