Description	:	Curtis E. Wiese, 52, of South Sioux City, Nebraska, formerly of Pleasanton passed away Tuesday, August 16, 2016 at St. Luke's Hospital in Sioux City, Iowa. Memorial Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 27, 2016 at the United Methodist Church in Pleasanton. Rev. Seung Ho Park and Rev. Evie Gulachi-Johnson will officiate. Curtis Eugene Wiese was born July 1, 1964 in Lexington, Nebraska to Bernard and Violet (Neth) Wiese. He started school in Amherst before the family moved to Pleasanton where he continued his education graduating in 1983. He worked at Baldwin Filters in Kearney. He served in the U.S. Navy from 1985 to 1988. He served on the ship the USS Samuel Gompers. Curtis was in a car-bicycle accident on June 10, 1993 that left him a quadriplegic. He spent time in Madonna Rehab in Lincoln. He then spent time at home before finding a place in Sioux City, Iowa called Opportunities Unlimited where he learned to do many things for himself. He later moved to Matney’s Colonial Manor in South Sioux City, NE. He enjoyed living there and considered it his home. He enjoyed the other residents and staff. He lived there for 18 years. Curtis loved his family and friends and enjoyed his time with them. His pastimes included Nebraska Football and he always dressed in his Nebraska clothes on game day. “Go Big Red’, Nascar go “88” Dale Jr. and #3 Dale Sr. He enjoyed country music, his radio was always tuned into a country station and he had a large collection of country cassette tapes and CDs. Survivors include his mother, Violet Wiese of Pleasanton, brothers, Randall Wiese of Kearney and Cregg and wife, Tammy Wiese of Pleasanton, many nieces, nephews and aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by his father, Bernard, brother, Robert, grandparents and aunts and uncles. Memorials, cards and condolences may be sent to the family at P.O. Box 224, Pleasanton, NE 68866
