Read More	!OBIT Eldora Herald April 23, 1930 Death of Mrs. George Shaner Mrs. George Shaner passed away at her home in Eldora Tuesday after a short illness with pneumonia. Funeral services will be held in the Christian Church in Eldora this Thursday afternoon at two o'clock and burial will be made in the Eldora cemetery. Cynthia A. Johnson, daughter of Benjamin and Henrietta Johnson, was born at the Cross'Ford farm in Hardin county, Iowa, September 18, 1895 (NOTE typo it should say 1859), and has spent her entire life in this state. She was married to George Shaner, Oct. 29, 1899(NOTE typo it should be 1879) and to this union five children were born, two having preceded her in death. The living children are Mrs. J.S. Klocow of St. Peter, Minnesota, Mrs. Charles Ellison and Earl Shaner, living near Eagle City. Besides the husband and three children, she is survived by 19 grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren. Mr. and Mrs. Shaner spent most of their life on a farm in the Eagle City neighborhood, moving to Eldora a few years ago. They celebrated their fiftieth wedding anniversary at their home there last October. ******************************************************************* * Another article after the burial: Mrs. George Shaner Mrs. Geo. Shaner, 70 died early Tuesday morning at her home here after a short illness of pneumonia. Mrs. Shaner was born Cynthia Johnson in Hardin County and has spent practically all her life in Eldora and this county. She is survived by her husband, three grown children, three brothers and four sisters. Funeral services were held Thursday afternoon from the Christian church.
