Description	:	Cynthia Ann Scott Troutman, was born in Wheeling, Tyler Co., Va., May 30, 1831, and died at Bonaparte, Iowa, July 28, 1917, aged 86 yrs., 1 mo. And 29 days. She came with her parents, Stephen and Naomi Scott, to Iowa in 1836 and settled in Van Buren Co. Read More	Cynthia Ann Scott Troutman, was born in Wheeling, Tyler Co., Va., May 30, 1831, and died at Bonaparte, Iowa, July 28, 1917, aged 86 yrs., 1 mo. And 29 days. She came with her parents, Stephen and Naomi Scott, to Iowa in 1836 and settled in Van Buren Co. Harrisburg Twp., where the home, since known as the Scott and later as the Eich home, was built and there her girlhood was spent, and here she was married to Samuel F. Bradley Oct. 5, 1854, by Rev. Milton Sutton. To bless the union a boy Frank C., who died at the age of 3 years and a girl, Clara S. were born. The husband having ill health, went to Texas to be benefited by a change of climate but died Dec. 8, 1857, and his remains were buried there. Feb. 26, 1860, Mrs. Bradley was married to George W. Troutman and continued her residence in Harrisburg Twp. and later to Bonaparte where the house was built in which she resided after the death of her husband on December 9, 1870, until three years ago when she came to make her home with her daughter, Mrs. Jno. O. Morris, and where she peacefully passed away after a short illness. To the second union were also born two children, Stephen Scott and Albert Gallatin, Albert dying Jan. 17, 1910. In girlhood she united with the Mt. Zion Baptist Church, of which she was ever a dutiful member. Even at her ripe old age she took much interest in the Sunday School which she always attended if strength permitted. She gave of herself and her means as best she could. Her efforts as a Christian worker will long be remembered by her church friends. Mrs. Troutman was an honored charter member of the order of the Eastern Star organized at Bonaparte. Of her immediate family there were three half brothers and a half sister all preceding her death many years, but she leaves two children, nine-grand children and 16 great grand children and many true friends. The reaper has bound to his sheaves for the Lord of Paradise an honored and respected mother, grandmother and sister in the O. E. S. and our hearts go out in love and sympathy to those she has left. She built her character for eternity by using the materials that withstand the test of infinity and completed a structure which will endure forever. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Baptist church with the pastor, Rev. Peterson, in charge, and the sermon by Rev. Trenerry, a former pastor. Interment in the Bonaparte cemetery.
