Read More	A Sudden Death Mrs Carl Tipton is Called by Grim Reaper Without Any Warning This community was surprised and shocked when the news was telephoned to town about noon Tuesday that Mrs. Carl Tipton was dead. She has not been well for some time, but had been up and around and attending to her household duties. She had been helping to prepare the dinner Tuesday but had told her daughter that she thought she would lie down for a few minutes and had gone to another room to the sofa. When Miss Vivian came into the room a little later she found her with life extinct. It has been impossible to get definite information before going to press. The deceased was a sister of George Brown, of this place, and came here in the spring of 1883, locating with her family in the north country. A few years later she was married to Carl Tipton and has since resided on the farm on Turtle Creek. She was a woman possessed of many admirable traits, a faithful, loving wife, and mother, beloved by her husband and children and respected by all who knew her. Arrangements for the funeral are being withheld awaiting the arrival of a sister, Mrs. Heustis from Montana. It is possible that it may be held Friday. The bereaved family have the sincere sympathy of everyone. Times Enterprise, Wessington, Beadle, South Dakota Friday, December 1, 1916, p1 c5 Cynthia Ellen Brown was born in William, Will county, Illinois. September 17th 1861. When she was three years old she moved with her parents to Bourbon, Indiana. In the spring of 1883 she came with her mother to South Dakota where she has resided ever since. On June 22nd 1887 she was united in marriage to Carl Tipton. To this union two children, a son and a daughter, were born, Raymond L. and Vivian E. both living among us. Mrs Tipton felt the call of the spirit life and responded by uniting with the Methodist Church at Wessington in the fall of 1898. She leaves to mourn her loss her husband. Carl Tipton. her son and daughter, Raymond and Vivian. three sisters and two brothers as well as many other relatives and hosts of friends all who will hold her in loving remembrance. Card of Thanks – We wish to extend our heart felt appreciation to the friends and neighbors who so kindly assisted us and the kind words of sympathy spoken in our bereavement of the death of our beloved wife, mother and sister.
