Description	:	Cynthia Kay Selken was born July 12, 1953 at Valley Springs, South Dakota the daughter of Wendell and Cornelia (Stubbe) Selken. Cynthia grew up at Lester, Iowa and graduated from West Lyon High School in 1971. After high school, Cynthia worked at the Stockyards Cafe in Sioux Falls, South Dakota for several years. Read More	Cynthia Kay Selken was born July 12, 1953 at Valley Springs, South Dakota the daughter of Wendell and Cornelia (Stubbe) Selken. Cynthia grew up at Lester, Iowa and graduated from West Lyon High School in 1971. After high school, Cynthia worked at the Stockyards Cafe in Sioux Falls, South Dakota for several years. In 1976 she became a student at Northwest Iow College in Sheldon, Iowa where she studied business. Upon completing her course of study, Cynthia returned to Sioux Falls where she was employed at Midland National Life Insurance Company. While living in Sioux Falls, she enjoyed bowling on the company team, and spent many of her free hours reading or crocheting afghans. Church was very important to Cynthia, and she maintained her membership at Peace Lutheran Church in Rock Rapids, Iowa, where she taught Sunday School and was also a part of the Bible study class. In 1992 she moved to Milford, Massachusetts. Last Saturday Cynthia died at her home following a lengthy battle with cancer. At the time of her death she was forty-one. Surviving are her parents, Wendell and Cornelia Selken of Lester, IA; her brother, Rodney Selken and his fiancee, Cindy Moe of Sioux Falls, SD; along with her special friend, Bob Babcock of Milford, MA; and many friends and relatives.
