Description	:	Son of Joseph Vandaele and Pelagia Pauwelyn Vandaele. Cyrille emigrated to California with his parents about 1890. Cyrille and Benonie married in Butte, Montana on July 5, 1897. In 1903 Cyrille travelled by boxcar with three horses, one cow, and household effects to homestead west of Markerville. He put up a house, a small barn and some fences and then went back to Butte to get Benonie, and his children Blanche and Joe. Cyrille emigrated to California with his parents about 1890. Cyrille and Benonie married in Butte, Montana on July 5, 1897. In 1903 Cyrille travelled by boxcar with three horses, one cow, and household effects to homestead west of Markerville. He put up a house, a small barn and some fences and then went back to Butte to get Benonie, and his children Blanche and Joe. In the first few years before there were any roads, Cyrille would only go to Innisfail about twice a year and get a big supply of groceries from G.W. West trading a butchered beef or hog. Breaking up the land was a very slow process; the first few years the brush had to be cut with an axe and plowed with two horses. One summer a bad prairie fire came across; Cyrille took Benonie and the children along with most of their clothing and bedding onto the breaking in case the buildings were lost, but he managed to get a fireguard around the house and barn. Harry worked in Calgary until 1934 when he went to the far north where he trapped and prospected for four years. He then came back to Calgary where he married and ran a mink ranch until his death.
