Description	:	The following has been contributed by Janet Walters: Cyrus McPherson was the oldest of perhaps nine children of Randal/Randall and Hannah Hadley McPherson.Cyrus was born on 10/29/1841 in Morgan Co., Indiana. The McPherson's had moved out of the slave state North Carolina perhaps after the 1830 census.Duncan we believe is buried in NC but his wife Sarah may have moved to Indiana with her adult children,Cyrus married Mary Havens (11/1/1840) on 6/24/1864 in Eldroa, Iowa. At least three of the McPherson adult children: Margaret Rawnsley Benbow (two husbands),John Templeton McPherson and Randall McPherson had moved to Iowa in the years just before the outbreak of the Civil War. Margaret and Randall remained in Iowa until their deaths. John and his nephew Cyrus and their families migrated to Nebraska. John, in my opinion, never was very successful…so he would homestead, farm. Sell out and then homestead all over again. Cyrus died on 10/30/1910 Mary died 6/18/1930 I am using Richard Prall's book on the McPherson and Miller families as my resource. Private printing. Records show that Cyrus is buried in the same lot as his wife, Mary. The following has been contributed by Janet Maus: Hugh McPherson, Carrie McPherson/Whitman, Anna McPherson, Leni McPherson/Miller, John McPherson, and my Grandfather Ross Randal MacPherson. My brother is a 4th generation Randal McPherson. ALSO: McPHERSON, CYRUS—Died at the home of his son, Ross McPherson, in Geneva, Neb., at 8:30 p.m., Sunday, October 30, 1910, Cyrus McPherson, aged 69 years and 1 day. About 5 9’clock Saturday afternoon, Mr. McPherson started up the steps that led to the Odd Fellow Temple. He stumbled and fell and struck his right shoulder on the floor, and his right temple on the first stair step. Dr. Blakeley and Dr. W. E. Propst were standing near and they assisted him to rise. He sat on the step for a time to rest, declining Dr. Blakeley’s invitation to go upstairs and lie down, saying he didn’t feel equal to it. He said he felt sick and Dr. Blakeley gave him some medicine. A little later he started to walk to the home of his son Ross. Ross overtook him and assisted him. Death followed Sunday evening and it is presumed that an artery in the brain covering was ruptured. He had been in very poor health for four or five years and was in a weak condition. Mr. McPherson was born in Morgan County, Indiana, October 29, 1841. He moved to Iowa with his parents in 1861. In 1864 he was married in Iowa to Miss Mary Havens, who survives him. In 1870 they came to Nebraska and took a homestead five miles east of Ohiowa. In 1879, they traded homesteads with Charles Pfingsten and moved five miles southeast of Geneva. In 1892 they sold this farm and took up their residence in Geneva and have made this their home since then. Mr. McPherson is survived by his aged wife, three sons and two daughters: Hugh of Thomas County, Nebraska, John of Wauneta, Ross of Geneva, Mrs. Annie Loghry and Mrs. Leni Miller of Geneva. The oldest daughter, Mrs. Carrie Whitman, died about twenty years ago. The funeral took place from the Free Baptist Church in Geneva at 3 p.m. Tuesday and was conducted by Rev. Miss Marks.
